Sooner or later, most of us encounter problems in our lives which we cannot resolve by ourselves and which leave us feeling unable to live life to the full. Counselling aims to provide the space and time for you to speak about these problems and to find ways to accept or resolve them.
If you are troubled by such feelings – however small or large – speaking to someone who will empathise with your situation, reflect honestly with you about it, value & respect you and encourage your growth, can help you unlock your own resources, enabling you to resolve your problems and move on with your life.
Counselling offers a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space, outside your usual circle of family, friends or colleagues. It can give you a chance to say what’s on your mind, express painful feelings or admit to confusing thoughts, helping you to cope with uncomfortable situations and to make positive change. In this way counselling can help you understand your present situation, whatever it may be, explore your past experiences and give voice to your hopes for the future. I'd be there to support you and respect your views but wouldn't usually give advice, instead helping you find your own insights into and understanding of your problems.
